A+ GPC Press Release

The latest press release from the GPC just popped up in my newsfeed and I'm very happy with it's content, structure and balance.  I'll be honest and admit that I usually scan press releases from HQ - and skip a good percentage of them - because I'm busy or the subject doesn't hook me in.  Today's release on the other hand, Green Party Supports EI Reforms Proposed by Government, was very well executed and I read it from top to bottom.

Timely Release: EI reform is happening right now so getting our point of view out in the media is vital.  It shows that we're paying attention and are active even without MPs in the house (for now!).

Multiple Green Party Sources: Quite appropriately Elizabeth is quoted first and I liked reading her come out so clearly on an economics/finance topic.  But then we get to hear from two other Green party members too; while a Canada-wide audience might not recognize the names, it gives the public a chance to realize the Greens have depth.

Balanced & Non-Partisan Critique: The press release title states we are supportive of the EI reforms, but the details state that we have concerns about the details.  But the concerns are communicated as a critique, and not as partisan sword fighting.  I'm a Green because I believe many, many Canadians share my desire for a less partisan and more cooperative House of Commons.  This Press Release got that message across.

So - to the staff and volunteers who pulled this one together - well done.  And keep it up.
